I remember seeing the most gorgeous Pucci Wellies on sale in NYC a few years ago but deceided against getting them because I was like, I live in Brisneyland, but what on earth would I ever need Wellington boots for?? Can't say I ever saw a devastating flood on the horizon. :(Today I tottered along to work again, feeling sick with guilt that I was nutting out trends for Autumn/Winter fashion and other meaningless "business as usual" stuff instead of helping the people in need and our community in the start of the clean up and rebuild :(
However I was able to do something positive whilst at work and that was go hunting for Wellies at Chermie for Mimmy and I to don tomorrow. After traipsing around the Centre desperately trying to find some, I was told everywhere they were SOLD OUT and so was ready to give up. Who would have thought that Wellington Boots would be the ultimate must have item for Summer hey?? I walked back into my office empty handed, only to find a trolley full of Wellies that we had loaned out to The Sunday Mail for a photo shoot that had just been returned and the best news, there were two pairs that were in our size...HELLS YEAH!!
I raced back down to the store and paid for them and felt good knowing that we had the adequate get up to get our hands full on dirty helping our dear friends Terry and Kate and Kate's family, who's house sadly went under in the floods along with the majority of their possessions. It's just absolutely devastating and with Kate being 8 months pregnant it is an extremely stressful time for them all so any help or assistance I am able to give them, is so important to me. :( xx
