Day 186 - VFC Friday Night Fashion Forum

Today marked the launch of the Virtual Fashion Connection event, where an array of online stores have come together in a retail capacity aka a pop-up store for the next 3 days.

Tonight there was a VIP shopping night where guests enjoyed bubbles and nibblies along with three guest speakers as part of a fashion forum discussing all the new winter trends, how you can get the overseas runway looks here in Australia for a fraction of the price, investing into your wardrobes (interesting, yet sad fact - clothing is the 2nd biggest contributor to landfill) and styling what you have.

Was really interesting and loads of Brissy bloggers were there taking snaps of the looks that were pulled from the stores there. I only had my iPhone, so I didn't take any, but will pop some up here once the professional snaps come back. :)

However here are the CliffNotes of the advice they gave as to what winter is all about:
  • layering
  • loads of accessories - pile them up kids especially bangles and necklaces...this is not a time in fashion when less is more time
  • statement shoes
  • blazers/coats/jackets - the preppier the better
  • cut out panels in clothing, to help look like you are wearing less, when you are in fact wearing more
  • stockings/tights/knee-highs - extra points if they aren't black and you will win the whole trifecta if they are worn with peep toes/strappy shoes
  • anything in your hair - beanies, big hair bands with flowers, hair pieces etc.
So there you go...get your fashion victim on peoples!! LOL xx
