Day 12 - THE Bag

So the hunt for my next handbag was on. One would think it would have been quite easy really, as I only had two things on the checklist for the bag I was after:

1) it had to be pink;
2) it had to be pretty.

Seriously, how freaking hard do you think that would be?? Yeah well, it has been a joke of hardness. With my friend Mim already owning my dream bag...a freaking ridiculously stunning hot pink Marc Jacobs one...*insert insane jealousy, but extreme happiness for her here* basically everything is compared to the hotness of that bag...a bag that makes you feel like a better person just for touching it, and she is a sweetheart for letting me touch it on the odd occasion. LOL

Anyhoo...so for a month of shopping and not seeing a single pink bag that wasn't vile or tacksville plastic...I managed to find a simply gorgeous Kate Spade one in the US and I was instantly sold. Slight problem, the mo fo's don't ship internationally!! So after trawling every freaking US website, none that shipped to Australia had it. I contacted them directly asking whether anywhere in Australia stocked it...and of course the answer was no. I then got my friend Natalia who lives in London to list all the UK sites that she could think of in the hope I could get it shipped to her. No luck.

I am such a huge believer in fate though, so whilst driving to my belated Birthday dinner at Aria on Thursday night, we pulled up at the lights, I looked over to check out the Oroton window and no joke, there was an almost identical pink bag to the Kate Spade one in the window...I nearly died. LOL It was obviously meant to be. :D

So all pumped for my new purchase I went into Oroton in the City today to buy it and just as I was crossing the road I saw the Sales Assistant take it from the window, I was OMG...noooooooooooooooo!! I raced in and saw my competition who had her hand on my bag. This full on straight-laced 40 year-old woman who was dressed in a suit and umming and ahhing for half an hour between the stunning pink one and this niche gut aqua snakeskin one. The fact that she had put MY bag in the same category in my eyes made me believe that she was SO not worthy of the pretty in pink one...I mean come ON.

This woman was starting to annoy the pance (pants) off me, seriously, one would think she was honestly making a life and death decision. It's like just CHOOSE woman!! After getting over "faking" that I was looking at every bag in the store, I asked the Sales Assistant if there was another pink one I could buy. She said sadly no that was their last one, as they are limited edition and each Oroton store only got two and they sold the other one yesterday. I was like BS!!

Anyhoo, the non-cougar could see I was going to tear it out of her hands if she didn't hurry the F up, so OF COURSE she chose the freaking pink one. *shakes head* I then asked the Sales Assistant if she was able to call Indro for me, as I needed that bag and could they please put it aside for me if they do. She called them and they had one left (the other sold this morning). She said they don't usually hold their limited edition bags. I was like, no, no, no, they aren't holding that bag for me, I am BUYING it...there is no holding. She's like how soon can you get there, I am like half an hour. So I bid non-cougar adieu and wished her all the best with her new bag (aka you are VERY lucky there is one at The Dro for me or the wrath of Sian would have reared its ugly head..!! J/K Bahaha)

So I toodles over to Indro and saw the little lambs behind the counter who said that the bag was perfect for me...it could have been the fact I was sporting matching pink nail polish, pink lipstick and was holding my pink wallet and pink iPhone (cover) that could have done it?? Not sure. But alas, the oh yes, it will be mine became mine and I even bought the bag a present for being so pretty...a keyring with three coloured love-hearts on it which I have attached to it. The bag is actually a bit darker than it looks in the photos, but here it is for your viewing pleasure...awe I just love it. xx
