Have had such a busy night cooking and icing 24 cupcakes (Husbo helped with the icing...bless), preparing my signature chickpea, leek and tomato dish with rice, writing everyone's Chrissy cards, some last minute wrapping, painting my nails and getting everything together for our early morning dash out the door. However despite all these tasks, I am one step ahead of previous years though in the fashion stakes, as I actually have an outfit planned!! My usual daily routine, which extends to special days such as Christmas, is waking up in the morning, walking two steps into the floordrobe (sometimes wardrobe) and going hmmm what to wear, what to wear?? LOL
I bought this little summer dress on my recent trip to Melbourne. It is by far the shortest dress I own, but with our Brissy summers only getting hotter, I think I can get away with it without feeling like I am showing way too much leg!! :s Note: in Siany terms, anything that is higher than just above the knee is considered short for me. I rarely go higher than that, due to comfort factors, having to "think" before I bend over etc. I have no issues in other girls wearing tiny dresses with sky-high hemlines (unless cheeks of the non-face kind are poking out the bottom...I draw the line there!! LOL), but for me, I have just never personally felt comfortable with short attire.
But I am going to do it...break out of my comfort zone and wear it. I figure if I feel too self-conscious after tomorrow's wear, I will just save it for beautiful spring and autumn days and don it with stockings...problem solved!! :) My cute new gold fish shoes will be making their first appearance tomorrow too. Weeeeeeeeeee!!
You will see that I have the perfect shade of nail polish to go with it too...You're Such A Kabuki Queen from O.P.I's Japanese Collection. :D Kabuki Kawaii!! ;) xx
