Day 101 - Packing

The only downfall of travelling - leaving my gorgeous furkids behind.

I wish I was like the Queen of Packing. I wish I could say I am one of those glamours that has the perfect art to the perfect pack, which includes putting things like sheets of scented tissue paper between each item of clothing, shoes in individual shoe bags and only taking exactly what I need, nothing more, nothing less because I plan every outfit for every day. Sadly my friends, I am not.

I always take too much, I always forget something and packing even for small trips always takes me hours because I hate it so much and I am Queen of Procrastination when it comes to doing things I have to do; but don't want to. Hey at least I am a Queen of something afterall then hey?? ;)

The only thing I do enjoy about packing is going through all my samples of stuff and deceiding what I am going to take. I really enjoy trying new things when I am away, mainly because I am on auto-pilot a lot when I am at home when it comes to skincare and make-up. I am the furtherest from a morning person, so never have time to experiment before work and my weekends are usually spent make-up free if I am slothing it, or I'm often rushing to get out and about so minimal products are used. So while I LOVE trying new things, I don't do it enough, but holidays I try everything as I have the time to and I want to. :)

I am off to Lady Elliot Island tomorrow, my favourite Island in The Great Barrier Reef. My parents are the sweetest things and bought my Brother and I tickets to join them for what they call "Our Last Family Holiday" as our Christmas present. We haven't gone away as just a family in 9 or so years, so it will be lovely to go away, just the 4 of us, like old times.

I had a really awesome and lucky upbringing, my parents have been avid travellers their entire lives, they jet-setted all around the globe for years before they settled down together to start a family in London and then Australia. They have SO many fabulous travel stories and adventures, they have certainly lived their lives to the fullest. So as kiddies, it was pretty much a given that we were always going to be holidaying to fabulous places with them. Travel is in their blood. I don't think there was ever a year whilst growing up that we didn't go away somewhere at least once. My Brother and I were, and are, well and truly blessed. :)

I am really looking forward to heading back to Lady Elliot Island, it has been over 10 years since I was last there, it has always been the Island I have compared all other tropical paradises to, so let's see how my memory has held up all these years. xx
