BEFORE - Our "well used" desk!!The office at our place is a scary abyss...it is literally the room where we dump everything in order to make the rest of our home clean. Thankfully it is a room that no one needs to know about or go near as it is hidden behind our wine cellar, so we just lock the door behind us and pretend it's not there. But there comes a point when you just can't pretend anymore and that time is...NOW!! LOL
I have been avoiding this realm for a very long time, I would walk in there take a look and then walk straight out. However last weekend I was in the mood to get my hardcore FF on and managed to get through the bulk of the de-cluttering. The main aim being cleaning all the visual clutter, because as you can see we had a LOT. I cannot believe the things that I have held onto...magazines, cutouts, letters, brochures, stuff from newspapers, boxes etc...totally crazy!! Our recycling bin was overflowing by the end of my cull.

It's amazing the amount you can cull when you have your motivation on!!Over the week I have been chipping away at it slowly...then today I FINALLY completed the beast of a project by organising the desk and the last bits and bobs that were in need of homes!! OMG you have no idea how thrilled I am to have the office in a decent, non-embarrassing state. I am SO impressed with the result!! Yay for me!! :D

AFTER!!!!!The next project will be the drawers full of "filing"...seriously they are chokers with every bank statement, phone/electricity/rates bills etc since we moved in over 3 years ago and then cleaning up the DVD/CD shelving which is a bit of a shambles, but that will have to be done for another rainy day!! xx

ReplyDeleteThanks honey!! I cannot believe we let it get THAT bad...it's because it's such a non-important room, as we barely ever use it and no one ever see's it apart from us.

Thanks sweetums...absolutely NEVER EVER letting it look like that again...most of it was just random ^%$# that could be instantly binned or stuff that actually lives upstairs but we have been too lazy to haul it all up there!! LOL ;) Thanks for all your support through my FF de-cluttering year!! xx
